The adult pigs have moved onto here and the maternity part of the herd is now on here too. If you hear some squealing it will be because Sam and Harry are vaccinating the young pigs – they do make a bit of a fuss about being picked up! If it’s all quiet, Harry might be in here fencing new paddocks or checking on new Mums!
We made silage in here last summer – We grow 2 years of a herbal ley which is a mixture of grasses, clovers and some deep rooted plants. This crop is silaged in the first year and the pigs move on in the second year. It’s all part of our crop rotation!
