This field has been cut for silage, these are the black bales you can see with a net over to keep the rooks from pecking holes in them! It’s important that the air is totally excluded so that fermentation can take place and it’s easier for the pigs to digest. We feed this in the winter when grass and clover growth is slow.
This is the next field in our pig rotation so it’s important to pick up any dog mess even though there is no livestock here at present.
The bridleway is planted with wildflowers on either side.
