Three Corner Field

What's happening in the field?

This field has been cut for silage, these are the black bales you can see with a net over to keep the rooks from pecking holes in them! It’s important that the air is totally excluded so that fermentation can take place and it’s easier for the pigs to digest. We feed this in the winter when grass and clover growth is slow. This is the next field in our pig rotation so it’s important to pick up any dog mess even though there is no livestock here at present. The bridleway is planted with wildflowers on either side.

Field Description

This aptly named field was converted to Organic in the year 2000 when we took on the tenancy of the southern half of the farm. It is not included in our circular farm paths but has a Bridleway running through the middle, from one side to the other which is bordered by wildflowers. There is a further area of wildflowers near the road.
